Louvers
Hey,
Anyone have a complete set of louvers for the rear glass that they will sell me for cheap? Or maybe post a pic of them on an FB so I can see what they look like. I think this will look sweet on my widebody and also hide the stripped parts of the interior.

The reason I don't want to ship is because it will cost too much for you. Afterall, I assume you don't want to pay too much for the item. I thought you might have contacts/relatives on the West coast to pick up the item for you.

I will check with the local ups and usps for shipping cost. It is the size of the item that is the problem not the weight. I love to sell it to you, but I think you will get one at a better price locally.

I was a Safety Captain, so I saw alot of videos and pictures of people doing no-no's, pretty funny.
Anything light is going to get crushed or thrown and probably dropped.

I think the only undamaged UPS shipments I've ever received were tires from Tirerack. :p

UPS pays out enough in damage claims to float several small companies EACH year. The numbers are horrific, but they have so much of the market, they can afford those kinds of losses...crazy...

I sold the louvers that I had. All 3 pieces, all hardware, a perfect sized box, and packing peanuts, for under $75 on shipping at the Mail Boxes Etc (now The UPS Store) like 2 weeks ago.
I'd expect that to be the average shipping cost. They arrived on time, as expected, and in perfect condition, according to the buyer. They do use UPS for shipping.

I have a set of aluminum louvers that I was going to sell on eBay. But I don't think you'll find any for "cheap", especially with shipping costs. There's a set on eBay now, I think...

I think they would look pretty good on your car. I happen to like them though a bunch of people don't. It's an 80's accessory that I think looks right at home on an 80's car. I only like the aluminum ones, though. The plastic ones don't look period correct to me.
If I happen to see a set in a junk yard or something I'll snag them for you.

You got a point that it's an 80s thing on an 80s car, but i didn't like louvers in the 80s either, and I loved RX7s. A friend of mine had a '79 with turbo in '81 when we were in high school. It was the best looking fastest car I had ever seen. He got louvers to match our other friend's 77 Mustang II Cobra with louvers. It was horrible. You can have your louvers though. At least you have the cool car under them.
