Looking for a new shell?

I have one for sale. The following excerpted from the for sale section:

83 rolling shell in Houston

I traded shells, so my old one is up for sale. It's a red 83 with a sunroof and comes with a few things, but it's mostly just the shell. Has suspension and rolls, ther is no engine, no tranny, almost no interior, no sound deadening, etc etc. Color is "Renaissance Red", there is little dent on the right rear panel, if you're a body guy, it can probably be popped out. Also there is a tiny bit of rust next to the sunroof and next to the hatch. Pretty clean, straight chassis. Rear end is a drum one with a screwed bearing, will roll no prob though, just makes noise. Can include a spare high mileage tranny in the deal if buyer wants. Also will throw in a set of wheels and tires, used race take-offs available. $100 or best offer. Lots of spares available separate, or I might throw stuff in if you sweet talk me.

pm, email, or post for more info, photos, to see the car

Meh, why can't you live with in reach of Pennsylvania? I need so many body parts for mine it isn't even funny.

Too many dents on my car, would probably be cheaper to get a shell and swap them onto mine.

The silver sheetmetal is new to that car, just a few months ago it was all red. I'd hate to scrap it, but I'm going to have no choice soon.

I wish you'd part it out...because I need those parts listed below, and the junkyards around here do not have them.

1: LH inner fender
2. LH fender support
3. Front Valance
4. Rear Valance

Sorry, I've done that before, and I won't do it again. Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the 'rear valence'?

If I'm wrong with the name, forgive me, but I thought it was the metal beneath the rear bumper cover.

I just realized something that I had forgotten. Was the 83 swapable with the 85?

That would be the bumper, or the bumper skeleton or several other names, but not the valence. The front valence is the plastic/rubber part beneath the bumper cover, the 84-85 has the addition of slots for brake cooling. There are lots of things swappable, but many parts are slightly different from 83 to 85.

So that's what they call the painted metal below the bumper, but above the exhaust? I assumed because it was in the same areas, it would have the same names. Thanks for correcting me though.

If you have to scrap it, yank the hood and header pannel before you do. I'll either pay for shipping or pick it up within a month or so.

Let me know if you're willing to do that.

Well, someone's coming to take a look in the morning and there's a second guy interested in taking it away if the first guy doesn't want it, but I'll keep you in mind if both fall through.
