Looking for input, opinions

I'm probably buying another toy soon which means my rx7 has to go. I don't really know what a fair price is, thte range seems to be $2000-$10,000 on these swapped cars.

Heres the meat-

81 gs
full stripped, 6 point cage with harness
s4 t2 engine
720, and 1600 injectors
haltech e6k
aeromotive a1000 with sumped tank
aermotive 13201 fpr(iirc)
hks SS manifold
hks standard wastegate
borg warner s362
NPR intercooler
Racing radiator
tial bov
full instrumentation and wideband
RB springs
tokico adjustables
pinion snubber
aCT race clutch
t2 tranny
roadracing LSD, un known brand, super super tight

I know I'm forgetting tons of stuff. Car made 305hp@9 psi. I had some ignition issues and couldn';t go any higher at the time. Turbo should support a little over 400 at 15-16 psi

Body is straight, but paint is only decent, has some door dings.

What would be a fair asking price for something like this? Are the people asking 5-7 grand for these t2 swaps getting it? Or are they just proud of their cars?

I' personally would like to get maybe $4-5,000 for it, but not sure if that is realistic.

Look like a standard 81 GS. absolutly no rust whatsoever.

car traps 95 in the 1/8, its a blast, but I want a 930.

More details on the turbo and pics of the body and interior in general, detailed pics of the engine bay required. Also list any brake and suspension mods/upgrades along with wheels and tires.

Car is cleaner than average 1st gen but no show winner. Absolutly no rust whatsoever. Interior is non existent minus dash shell and column. Everything you would want to monitor is there including fuel pressure.

Basically it is a race car or sunday cruiser. No AC/heat/radio/etc.

Anyone with a built t2 first gen have advice? I have a ton of local people who want to buy this car from me, I just need to hit them between the eyes with a number.

Turbo is an s362 www.timsturbos.com with a 1.0 exhaust housing.

Depending on mileage on the engine, etc., I would hit them hard. Pay to play, right? Nothing less than 5k.

I have seen a local 10th AE with 408 hp and in very good condition go for 7k. Most rotorheads will not pay top dollar and prefer to build thier own instead. The newbs and F&F wannabe's sometimes pay stupid money.

+1 on the no less than 5K, if everything is in good shape.

I say list in here and a few other spots, have lots of photos of everything from multiple angles, have lots of detail so people now your on your stuff and this isn't a thrown together collection of parts and I'm sure you'll find some one willing to pay 5K.

I hate to interupt, but;

Please change that Avatar, man. I know you've already been asked by a Mod, and I am in total agreement. Tasteless.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.......

Three things to add that are actually on-topic:

1. Claiming no rust is nice, but actually proving it will improve the pricing drastically. Get good pics of the underbody and behind the storage bins to prove the condition of the car.

2. A lot of people will be worried about purchasing a boosted rotary built/driven by someone they don't exactly know. Include very good details on the setup, how many miles you have on it, and exact compression readings on each rotor face.

3. If the body is not perfect, chances are that's not going to matter a whole lot. Most people are smart enough to know you take care of everything mechanical, then do the body last. Also, most will prefer to do the body their own way (body kit, paint, etc.)... So a rough finish that is rust free will probably not be a real turnoff except for the F&F kids.

Good luck with the sale. (And get that avatar changed).

Negative on the mod intervention. But why don't you go and complain yourself now.

I'm selling the car locally. They can inspect it in person, ona lift whatever. Who sets out to build a 10 sec 1st gen with JY bound rustbucket anyway?

2. A lot of people will be worried about purchasing a boosted rotary built/driven by someone they don't exactly know. Include very good details on the setup, how many miles you have on it, and exact compression readings on each rotor face.
If someone wanted "exact" compression, it'd be up to them to take it to get tested. Car pulls 16-17lbs of vacuum and does well on a standard comp test.

3. If the body is not perfect, chances are that's not going to matter a whole lot. Most people are smart enough to know you take care of everything mechanical, then do the body last. Mileage on the car since the t2 swap is about 11 thousand. Mielage on the newest engine is less than half that.

Yea most people want to build there own, but it would cost like 16k+ to recreate this car. This thing does well at the dragstrip, then can put a hurting on the porsche club at the roadcourse.

You never did answer the whole "930 what?"

I'm assuming you mean a Porsche 930. If so, I want to ride in it next time I am in Saint Louis, even though I don't know you at all.

Not trying to be an ***, but I agree with Directfreak that your avatar is tasteless. If you didn't see his request, no big deal. Sorry if I offended you by telling you that your avatar offended me.
