Lithium grease on igniter???
I pulled my igniter (see pic) and tested it. It is working which is great but I have a question. When I took it off there is what looks like white grease or paste on it. What is this? Also, I thought the back of the ignighter was supposed to ground. How would it ground through the grease?

That's Thermal grease (also called CPU grease, heat paste, heat sink compound, heat sink paste, thermal compound, thermal gel, thermal interface material, thermal paste, or grey goo).
It's used to help transfer heat away from the igniter.

Even if the thermal grease is an electrical insulator there will still be plenty of metal to metal contact to provide the ground.
The grease just fills the air gaps, which would otherwise act as thermal insulators.
