Lights Out

My headlights are not working. They are not getting any power. I checked the fuseable links, they are fine. I think its my light switch that is not working. Has anyone ever had to replace their lightswitch on their 7. Does anyone have any idea what else could be causing my problem?

Thanks,

Spencer Black

Yes the motors for the lights work fine, they go up and down.
The headlights do not come on though. The Parking lights
work fine also.

I dont think its a fuse under the dash, but I could be wrong.
What fuse are you talking about

Did you replace your switchs with a mazda unit, how much $$

it should be like a little fuse it should be a 10.
my switch that they changed well i dont know i will check the bill for it i had a new engine installed i had the stupid switch changed because my stupid lights would only work with the hight beams.
imagine driving at night with only your high beams working.
i crossed a lot of pissed off people.

Sounds to me like you need a new combination switch. I have a GSLSE and sometimes the lights dont work either but only once in a while. I traced it down to the switch.

Yeah, I think I need a new switch too. I really am not looking forward to seeing how much a mazda dealer is going to rape me
for one though.

A combo switch from any '84 or '85 should do the trick. YOu just take off the steering wheel, remove a couple screws, unhook the electrical connector, and it slides right off.

If you can't find one after you've recovered from the price quote from your mazda dealer, pm me. We've got a pretty good network of wrecking yard rx7 detectives out here.
