Lets try this carb tuning again :)

Ok here is what I have on a stock 1979 SA 12A w/ rats nest gone for carburetor:

OER 45mm

Idle 65F8
Main Jets 185
Air Corrector 220
Emulsion Tube F11
Pump Jet 45
Chokes 40
Auxilliary Chokes 5.0

I am hearing that my chokes and air corrector is too big for my stockport. Could someone please show me the right specs? I have to find the new ones and rejet it i presume..

Thanks guys!

There are no 2 engines that are alike. So you will need to learn by trial and error. Dont be afraid to make mistakes or use differnt combination and BE SURE TO LOG IT. You are the owner and it should fit your driving habit.

not too far off. your a/c are way too big and your idle jet might be too rich. It's hard to diagnose a problem if you don't state the issue. But Ill guess it stumbles around 300o rpm huh? If that's the issue switch to a 60f9 and that should fix that as far as the air corrector that's just making you run too lean up high, so you might want to bring it down to a 150 or so. As stated before no two carbs or engines are alike so you have to get a good base and tune the issues out. If that doesn't cure the stumble then you might consider changing the choke to a smaller size. I ran 40mm in my 45dcoe and it was fine some people are saying it's too big, but It worked for me and i think experiance is better than ideas about what works... WoW your aux chokes might be a little big though. I've never seen 5.0's I thought they were only available in 3.5 and 4.0. You might want to bring that size down. I've allways ran 3.5's

Ok, so I need to change my air corrector jets to 150, and my aux chokes to 3.5, and possibly change to a 60F9. If that is a good baseline, I am off to go look at parts!

Thanks!!
