Oil pressure gauge is pegged
On the 85GSL the oil pressure gauge is (now, after we replaced the beehive orings) always pegged at the high end of the gauge. My Apprentice Mechanic found a wire hanging near the beehive and it was rather obviously pulled out of a nearby connector, prolly while wrenching off the frozen banjo bolt, so he sorta stuck it back together as best as possible. I figure I gotta pickup a connector at the JY and put it in, since I don't see that thing at mazdatrix or the autostore.

From what I have read, when the stock sensor goes, it breaks the stock gauge in the instrument cluster as well. Everyone tells you: "Just get a mechanical gauge."

When oil pressure sending units go they will usually peg the gauge as soon as the ignition is turned on. Try turning your ignition to the on position and see if your gauge goes to the max position before the engine is started/cranking. Problem is either the connection or the sending unit itself.
