Lightbulb LED headlights for 1st gens (pictures)

Tired of my OEM headlights, I was looking for something newer, like the sylvania head lights. After a little bit of research I found out that JK headlights (Jeep Wrangler 2007-2017) are a direct replacement for our cars. Most of you probably know that Jeeps have a huge aftermarket following, so finding some affordable LEDs was going to be easy. I ended up going with these
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0144EAHKU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0144EAHKU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
mainly cuz they matched the Blacktie Motors turn signals I bought (still waiting for those, will post a review once I get them). I'm really pleased with them; these came with a DLR but I left them unplugged because I always have my lights flipped down during the day. So any 7" headlight with an H4 connector will work on our cars.

I like the look, would be curious to get a report on the nighttime spread, distance, and pattern when you get a chance. The LEDs should draw a lot less current and go easier on your wiring through the switch column for that matter. Nice upgrade,

Hmmm, not a fan of the way they look. Makes the car look like an insect when they are up and an ugly one at that.

I have LEDs for all my lights except for the license plate illumination and the headlights. I was lazy on the license plate lights. The head lights are the Hella H4 kit from Blackdragon. Really works well.

Also curious to see pics of the pattern and light these throw. Not sure they are for me but if the work for you thats great.

There are tons of different styles, this is just the style I chose.

Would love to see a pic of them on your car in the daylight and at night with them on. Aren't these technically off-road lights?

I concur. I have new OEM headlights on my SE. The darn things are so bright that even on low beam some people flash me. The lights on my 7 are brighter than any of the newer cars I own.

What is your charging voltage, seem to recall in a previous post you talking about an alternator problem burning out light bulbs... Stock sealed beam, even a H6014 is not THAT bright that people would be flashing you. Likely more of a misalignment problem.

Only problem I see, OP, is that they seem to have scrambled your license plates.

I got them on amazon, plug and play, no need to fab your own LED lights. They have 194s, 1156s and 1157 (red). Watch out for the 1157 cheapos in 10 packs, they often don't have the right polarity to work as a true 1157 bulb.

No pics right now, maybe later I can get some.

I always wondered if those Jeep lights were compatible with ours, good to know! I kinda like the look! I had a set of those black tie turn signals... was not a fan of the quality at all...

I'm very curious on how these light up at night as well. Would definitely be easier on the wiring system of these old cars!

Yeah, the Black Tie turn signals aren't very impressive in my opinion...I'll be posting up a review on them soon.

Sorry for the crooked picture. NOTE: this is with the blacktie motors DRL on as well.

This is just the blacktie motors DRL, headlights off.

I just installed them, I'm not happy with the quality either, I'll be posting a review with tons of pictures hopefully this week.

Isn't BlackTie a rebranding of HotWater Labs? Always thought their prices were high.

Pretty much; the lights work flawlessly. It's just the quality does not reflect the price.

Not exactly a controlled light pattern, you don't say if you've adjusted the lights as of yet,may not change much. Would not want to be approaching you in an oncoming situation.

I have but the vertical adjustment screws are broken, so that's about as low as I can get. Been trying to find a replacement, but no luck.

Thanks for the pics! Now I'm wondering what they'd adjust to with proper leveling screws. The dream is still to go with a projector HID setup in an FB, someday I'll get around to finally mocking one up...
