The 84-85 includes complicated molding around the ashtray and screw points at varying depths on the back.

alright!!~~ now for the updates for 84-85!!~~ I have met wackyracer and did a test fit on the plates for the guages... I made two of them... one for the people who wants like 6 guages with stereo... and one for people who wants 3 guages with stereo. tell me what you guys think... personally I like the white one better..hehehe... because it looks super stock.... also these are mock ups so I used whatever plastic I had with me... later we can have this like mat black or whatever....hehehe.

Wow, I will deffinately get one of the 84-85. I like the one with the 3 holes right above the stereo. What will the panel with 6 holes look like? Will the extra 3 holes replace the climate controls and clock?

I would deffinately not want red or white......lol Black at the least and I don't know if you could do silver or gray ? If not, maybe we could paint it but black would probably be ok if not. Please post the pics of the 6 gauge panel

is this gonna be the 6 gauge panel with three more holes down low? How about 6 gauges up top and the radio down low?

On the red example, you have the plate infront of the stereo surround and the white one screwed to the rear of surround. will the red style plate also bolt the the rear of the surround during actual installation?

And a question to anyone, how hard is it to re-locate the two climate controls that would be replaced with gauges? The fan control should be No problem, Not sure if the cold/hot control has a cable behind it or what? ( still trying to decide which panel to get)

no....the red will be mounted on the front.... you can't mount it on the rear unless you cut out the whole console itself... and I think that would look real ugly.
