I do like the idea of the guages being higher, but can the heater/AC controls be relocated to the lower holes?

It can be done. The blower speed controls = extend the wires; temp control = held by a cable/wire. ***** = dont know what to use yet. But everything else can wait til Akira finish the mock-up.

If you live in a "Hot" state, you could just leave the blower settings on "VENT", "RE-CIRCULATE", "MAX COLD", and tuck them all behind the dash. Not like you're
gonna use the heater or defroster, etc.

Then just leave out ONE **** for the fan controls. That way,
when you turn the **** on, it's already set to your preferences.

Talking Update!!~~~

Hey guys!!~~ Sorry about the late update!!~~~
Damn.... this 1st gen plate is not a DIN Plate any more... its more like a whole new console!!! hehehehehehe.....
anyways.... here is the First first gen plate I finished... thing will be paced way more quicker now because I got a hold of the lazer cutter. So tell me what you think guys...
also I redesigned the fonts on the fan and heater controlls...hehehe.
I need a car to see if this will fit!!!!
Wackyracer!!~~ can you find a volunteer??

Damn, that looks pretty good, Did you do the 84-85? That's what I'm intersted in getting and you should be able to sell quite a few of them.

Sean, I have a 84-85 dash that out of the car. You can borrow it. I also have a couple car sitting in the drive way that you can test with. Let me know.
