Year ago, I think it was rotary engineering or rotary reliability that made a replacement face plate for a SA. It a direct replacement since it was just a plain flat panel, unlike the 81-83 and 84-85.

My bro makes all the plates for me. here's a pix of his SA

here's my FB

I'm hoping the console plate can go behind the dash. And if we could bolt it in that would be even better, i don't much care for the double sided tape thing. How thick is it? I remember when i used to make custom plexi stuff i could drill a hole in the side and slide a few L.E.D.s in the to light up the etchings.

yup. I tried to C/F the entire plate but it was too hard to do Or maybe I just dont have the patience when it comes to do something like this. But after seeing your panel, it easier to just make a full plate (less the top section) and C/F it.

Give us your ideas

SA Panels (79-80)

Option: Picture #2 or completely make a new panel like the old rotary reliability & racing panel (picture I dont have)

S1-S2 (81-83)

SA & S1-S2 will require some sort of rigging ur existing panel.Move the radio on the lower section and replace it with a 3-gauge panel or vice-versa.

S3 (84-85)

My FB's short panel

Directfreak's long panel - option to keep or eliminate the blower speed/temp controls including the clock

Or make full panel which can be mounted in back of the panel

Shifter Boot

Hey WackyRacer;
Where did you get Your Shifter Boot from?
I've been trying to find one that is not 14"s tall like you find in most aftermarket stores.
Yours looks like a perfect fit.
I put on a new **** and it looks outa place with the Stock Boot.
Anybody else can give there 10 cents worth also.
Thanks
sgieldon

Mel, IIRC 83-85 are the same panel. Cant decide, I like both the long and short ideas. Why not offer both? Or at least make prototypes of each and let us check em out.

To the mfg of these panels, are they some type of lexan? They look like a tinted/smoked plastic.

keep us posted with progress! Just noticed you wanted ideas, I personally like the directfreak style dash, not to be unoriginal or anything, I just think thats what looks the best.

Akira and I will be meeting at lunch to discuss the options for the first gen community. Its acrylic 1/4 thick plastic panel; not lexan. Hopefully, Akira can make different sets to accommodate everyone.

Thanks again.
