Latest Rotaryshack 13Bturbo swap 80rx7
Latest Rotaryshack 13Bturbo swap 80rx7
THE SPECS ARE AS FOLLOWS...
91 j-spec motor
45 weber carb
rotaryshack turbo hat
mallory #4309 FPR
MSD fuel pump
new 3 row radiator with electric fan
21/2 downpipe with full exhaust
light steel flywheel
racing Beat clutch
a special thanks goes out to the owner of the car and his friend Chris for helping out with parts hunting!!
The owner originally came to Rotaryshack for a stock 12A motor swap but after a test drive in one of the "low budget" turbo swap cars he had to have one!!!
this car was built on a tight budget since the owner was a college student ,,, so if your looking for speed on a budget ,this IS the way to go!!!
p.s. you have to see this car in person to appreciate how clean this rx7 is!!!

Poor Robert is probably still "paying the price" for being associated with the heathen Jeff...are the float bowls of a Weber different so they don't need to be pressurized or is there something esle going on I'm missing in the pics?

no im pretty much free and clear of that whole mess, but thanks for asking!!
as far as the carb being pressurized, it is through the bowl vent , the hole is incorperated into the hat design
Well, I'm sure physically and financially, but I was talking about the old collective conscious here in the Forum after that infamous thread from aways back...
ps. we're trying your "tension bolt stretch" trick Monday on Furious Rex to try to stop the dowel pin leak...everyone cross their fingers for us...

I still don't understand why someone would take a fuel injected turbo engine and put a carb on it. It's going backwards if you ask me, or is it just the price?

that car is making alot more power than a stock tII

I see no discussion on the blowthrough. Its simple. It makes more power under same conditions (more efficient), easyer to tune (no need for laptop), and is cheaper (fuel injection systems go for up to $3000. Carb can be had for under $1000).

STOCK SETUP.
so now, what was your question again?

Don't know how much the rotary shack draw through system is but I was told of a similar system I belive by mazdadragracing.com or mazdaracing.com or something like that and it was two or three grand (this is what I was told at sevenstock)

but why accomplish a blow through setup and be only within a limited amount of power that could only go so far?? 350 hp max perhaps?
and wouldn't fuel injection be more "efficient"? please further explain

So it makes 100 more HP than a stock T2 without a intercooler and what looks to be a stock turbo?? Something isn't adding up. What am I missing?
