JDM SA with factory turbo
Hey guys,
I came across a JDM SA with the factory turbo, but I can't find any info on it anywhere. All I can tell is that they're quite rare.
Does anyone know anything about them?

I'd be interested in seeing pics, it's the one first gen I've always wanted to own. They made them from 83-85, JDM only. They had 3 trim levels, the GT, GT-X and SE Limited (although I'm not 100% sure what they limited was called)
In addition to the 12at there are a series of "Rotary turbo" badges specific to the car, a "Rotary Turbo" sticker on the front bumper, it has a boost gauge where our volt meter goes, as well as adjustable shocks. They have the same suspension/lug pattern as our GSL-SE. I'm sure there are other differences with the 12at cars, but those are the main ones.

Here are the only pics I have;

I've decided not to buy it. I've had it checked out further, and apparently the body is quite rusted. My FD is enough of a money pit, and it'd be too hard to sell a collectors car that's in this rough of shape. Such a pity.

Any more information on the GT-X trim level?

Not a whole lot unfortunately, I got the badges off of one lol. From what I can tell all the 12at cars had the SE style suspension and LSD, I would assume the various trim levels would have changed the other options of the car like power mirrors and sunroof etc. Again that's only a guess, I'd love to know more about them (and own one haha). That re4life site is always great, but I can't read enough Japanese to know what that brochure says lol.
To the original poster, I'd buy that car in a heartbeat, rust can always be repaired! Kinda a shame that the badges are missing (although I see he stuck one on the dash) as well as the sticker on the front bumper. Finding a replacement of that would be near impossible. Can't tell if the gauge cluster is still stock since that aftermarket boost gauge is blocking it, but I'd assume it is.

I am still very tempted to buy it, but the problem is that I don't have the room or time for it. Especially to do a restoration.
More importantly, it's at an auction, so I have no idea what it will go for, and since it's so rare, I have no idea what it's worth.
If I could get it for a price reasonably cheaper than what I could sell it for, and use the profit to put towards my FD, then I definitely would. However, like I said, I'm concerned that it would be difficult to sell a collectors car in less than ideal shape.
The auction goes this evening. I have until then to decide. Keep in mind that there's a significant cost to getting the car here and legal. Even if it sold for next to nothing, it would still be at least $5,000 once all is said and done.

Yea, I wish I could read Japanese. I have been collecting parts from 12AT cars for awhile. I have quite a few Savanna RX-7 badges, GT-X badge, two Rotary Turbo b pillar badges, one rear Rotary Turbo badge, Rotary Turbo air box, and a few other things.
I see you have some badges also, Very hard to find.

so things like the seats, radio and sunroof are going to be the differences. GT-limited is probably sunroof + leather+the good stereo; like a GSL-SE. GT is probably equipped like a US S model.
the GT-X is in the middle, like a GS.

j9fd3s: I agree, they are probably similar to our S/GS/GSL/SE trim levels. I've also noticed that the GT/GT-X could be turbo or non turbo. I've seen a number of them on Japanese auction sites with 6 port 12a's (would love to get that air box lol) I'm not sure if that also applies to the SE-Limited as I've only ever seen those with 12at's but it probably does.
