I would go with a standard 2nd gen leading coil and a stock fb coil on the trailing. I presume that you will be running the box on the leading side only.

I never was interested in Jacobs. Sorry, that didn't answer the question either.

I'm with the Doc. Stock coil on trailing and a 2nd gen leading coil on leading.

i was planning on only doing the leading, but can the stock gen 2 coils handle a captive discharge system? i was just going to copy and msd system dual lead coil direct fire.. i was just wondering what coils are better to use

It's better to use a coil designed specifically for capacitive discharge. The 2nd gen coil should work though.

With no personal knowledge on the subject, the guys at RX7.com are fans of Jacobs and sell only the canister style coils.
For everyone who supports the 2nd Gen coil, can it supply enough power for a blow-thru turbo setup? I'm running 2GCDFIS right now and I'm wondering what to upgrade as far as the ignition system goes.

Yes it does. I would recomment the Transistor Trick as well.

As far as the OP is concerned, get the canister and stick them in the stock place. I did that with my MSD Blaster2 coils.

The 2nd gen coils are the same in the Turbo or N/A applications.
