Its Getting Hot.......

Hey

What is everybody using to block the windshield when you leave your car to protect from the Sun? Is there a particular brand that fits just right?

Nothing, no one ever used one on my car and the original dash is still crack free and not faded (much) so I don't think it's nessesary. I'm sure someone here uses one though....

82transam, bring your car to the south where there is nothing but sun, it will fade and crack after one summer of sitting out.

When my rx was a daily driver, I bought an oversized cardboard thingy and cut it to fit???

I use the sun sheild thing you put in the front window. It doesn't work very well though.

go to advance or autozone and get the foldups. i bought a set that are made of a reflective krinkle material. they have worked like a charm in a wrx, camry, caravan, maxima, and rx7. they foldup together and fit easily behind the seat. really nice.

When I go to work, my car is right there next to me in the back. I work mostly outside at the shop, and I use a piece of speaker box carpet Over the outside and under the wipers, helps a shitload, Untill it rains, then I get new piece of carpet

What do you guys do about the rear window? That's where most of the heat comes from, that thing makes the car a freakin oven.

Good advice.

FYI:
Metallic Tint (slightly reflective) will do a much better job at keeping it cool, than standard Dark tint.

Trust me - I live in South Florida

When you get it tinted, and I suggest that you do, ask the dealer for the tint that blocks the most of the suns rays. You might be surprised which ones do and which ones don't. The reflective one only blocked around 35%, while the one I bought blocked around 75%. It was the best money that I have spent on my car.
