Its alive!!!!

I just came in from the shop.. I havent seen my wife all day...My dinner is cold.... but I dont care, my first rotary is alive!

After getting everything finally (sp?) insalled (i.e. engine, trans, fuel system, exhaust.....), the beast is ALIVE!!!!

I tapped the throttle once, pulled the choke, and truned the key....It fired, and ran at 1100 rpm for 1/2 hour....

I am soooo sorry that I dont have a digi cam.. The pics of my wifes unbelieving eyes would have been a thousand laughs...

And the pics of another seven saved from the scrap yard
is worth even more....

After warming up, sitting in the drivers seat, up on jack stands, I put my foot in the throttle,.... what a beautiful noise!!!!

( I will be asking about the super rich exhaust later on...)

haha I know that look. My wife drove the 7 for the first time in a couple of months the other day. Since her last drive I've rebuild the entire suspension and did some carb tuning. After her drive she had a look of shock and actually said she was impressed with my work. Now I fear she'll wanna drive it more.

BTW- Congrats!

I know I know.... my bad. But..... the main purpose of letting her drive the 7 was to prove that all the money I've dumped errr, I mean invested into it was all good LOL From now on she's restricted to drive the Audi A4...... and she's happy with that 'cause the choke on the 7 scares her too much anyway. Plus you know how tough it is to start a 7 once it floods. hehe

It's mine..... it's mine.... it's all mine.

My wife hates the idea of driving my 7 and that's just the way I like it. She likes the '93 Eagle Talon. I must admit that I loved that car too, until I got the 7 running. Now I go to drive the Talon, and the shift pattern (that I used to think was tight) feels all sloppy.

I Love My 7 !! And it'll be even better when I get some mods done. Right now after all the help from you guys, and probably not enough thanks, it's still straight stock. Oh wait, I do have the Rusty Gas Tank Mod!! That's probably good for at least an extra 10% HP gain.

Update,...

I finished putting in the drivline, bled the brakes and clutch, and took it off the stands. My loving wife then walks into the shop and asks if she could go on the maiden voyage with me. .. At this point, Im guessing she wants to be there if anything breaks so she can "I told you so!" me for the next couple of months. But I agree thinking that I have covered all of my bases..

She waits for me to pull the Seven out of the shop before getting in, (She made a remark about my rich exhaust.) and off we went... Well we werent even out of the driveway when she says "it rides too rough" and "does it have to be so low?"

Now I'm upset, she came along to bitch at me... I look down at the temp guage and see that its up to running temp, check both ways, and bring the R's up to 6500 and leave the driveway sideways.... grab second and let it walk the other direction....

She didnt have much to say for the next hour of hot footing aorund the back roads.....
