It's Alive

Well my 82 rx7 hasnt been running for over 1 1/2 years now and i finally heard it turn over and idle for the first time today...i was so excited. While i was in the process of getting everything fixed i installed a Holley 600cfm 4brl carb, Racingbeat intake, Racingbeat headers, new MSD ignition coils, ignition wires, NGK spark plugs, and all new components to the dizzy. Now im just waiting for the exhaust to be welded on b/c were removing the cat and running straight pipe to muffler....posting vid's of car running soon.

You might want to consider a pre-silencer in place of the main cat, it's gonna be loud without it.

we arent that worried about loudness...we have a FD here running straight to muffler and he hasnt been pulled over once.....so im hoping that i get the same situation....

also i dont want to invest too much into the setup b/c im selling engine, tranny, full exhaust...im goin 13btII next year and i wont be needing any of this...sadly i just built it and will be selling it all shortly

You can get away with that on a turbo, the turbines exhaust wheel breaks up the exhaust pulses, and noise, a lot more than most people realise. With 2 Magnaflows and 3" pipe on my 1/2bp, is still too loud. If the FD is still running twins, it quiets it even more.

My car has 3" straight piping into one dynomax straight-through muffler ( 1 3" inlet-2 2.5" outlets) and it is 99-101 db when im at full-tilt on a roadcourse with the tips pointing away from the sound station. Thats how loud it can be.

P.S. try it anyways! the cops love my exhaust! helps them reach quota, not so much lately cause 3 new cops in my town were/are rx7 owners

the loudness isnt a thing that im worried about....b/c i didnt find the car to be overly loud with it running just headers....im more concerned with the base police giving me a hard time with it being loud on base...haha

a quick question tho....will the FC side aero mirrors fit onto the FB door panel?...or is it a different angle?....reason i ask is that i cant pass NC inspection without a side mirror for the driver's side and i removed both of them....i hate mirrors
