So the engine was dropped in yesterday, but didn't succeed in firing it up. The starter got in the way (it's failing) and ran out of battery. Got the battery recharged today and tried it again after inspecting for vacuum leaks. It fired up!!! a little smokey at first so it probably was slightly flooded from yesterday's attempts. It was on for about 3-4 minutes (until choke went in) and then died. So now to work out the little kinks so it will hold idle; handle couple of small oil and coolant leaks, replace starter, and it will be back on the road!

But it'll probably be about a month until I get the modified rebuilt Nikki I want to put in to get the most out of the streetport. Until then, the hp gain compared to stock should be only nominal.

And yes, I'll race Wacko's brother, even though his setup is more beasty than mine.... on a straight line I will probably be handed my *** to me in a plate. If it is in a circuit, then that could change things...

Well first of all he's got a very agressive streetport and I have a mild one. He's got headers and I only have the stock exhaust manifold to a cat replacement pipe. And I saw some nasty looking coils in his engine too, and electric fan. His car is lighter than mine. Plus the weber. So yeah he would probably rape me.
Your car looks like a good warm up . Soon as I'm done breaking it in you're on!

Did you say TWISTIES? …It just happened that my bro used to ride bikes (NOT A BMX) at Angeles Crest Hwy and was one of the fastest bike riders (top 20). In fact, he used to race at Willowsprings. So hes been there or at least has experienced the worst. Man, I cant wait to see this…
