Well, I just got my custom short-throw shifter and 2nd Gen shift **** from Trochoid so now I was able to install my Redline shifter and e-brake boot (after 1 year of being in storage).

I also repainted my interior console panel to go along with everything. I liked how everything came out. Tell me what you think.


A 3 shifter example. Mine is at the top, Trochoid's is in the middle, and stock at the bottom. The throw is very short and fitting for the car, I like it.

The shifter and e-brake boots upclose. I need to change out that e-brake grab handle.


BTW, if you want a short-throw shifter, contact Trochoid. The price was nice and well worth every penny.

A couple of details on the shifters. The top one was modded to fit the short shift collar the Billy sold at one time. I had a couple of them laying around. The middle shifter is the one in the wide body. It's my own creation and the throws are at most 1/2 of the stock shifter. It's so short I'm not always sure which gate I'm in when I first get in the car. Good thing I still have the spring in the tranny that centers the shifter.

Mine is so short, I swear it beats the synchros 1/2 the time during shifts, lol.

 

You didn't really state which shifter you're actually using. I assume it's trochoid's. What did you have to modify on the socket to get the different length shifter to work?

Edit: ah, we posted at the same time. That clears it up a bit.

 

I did state in my original post that I'm using the shifter that Trochoid made and I said it was the top one.

What did you mean by socket?

The top one, Trochoid made for me. Middle is what he's using in his WB. Bottom is stock. Sorry, I thought my original post, I made it clear that the top one is the one I was using when I said it was mine.
