The interior of my car stinks. Probably exhaust? Not like the smell coming out of my muffler. The only thing I can compare it to is unburned propane. I definitly have an exhaust leak but have not traced it yet. If exhaust is getting in he car...is it most likely from the engine compartment going through the ventilation? Or would it travel up through the floors? I haven't driven with the windows closed yet...am I gonna pass out behind the wheel from CO poisoning?

I had a truck that was like that it had a cracked Heater core

But you said you do have an exhaust leak, it could be getting in through a hole in the flour as well so take a good look at the flour, and check tail light seals and rear hatch and door seals as well.

Are you sure it is not Rotten water? Check the tire well to see if it is full and check under the bins for water.

My car smells. . . . like a car. Has that. . . . car smell. When I first got it, it also smelled like alchohol and marijuanna. I just HAD to rescue her from that fool (at the request of the original owner )

 

My always smells like premix.

 

i didnt say it like its weird. just stating a fact. if i said it like it was weird i would have said, "My step dads car use to smell like tires when he managed a tire store, and thats weird."

My '81 has a distinct smell that it shares with my '83....

the '85 smells quite differently though.

 

my 79 smells like im runnin race gas(rich exhaust+model glue) and cigs...hmmmm i dont recall puttin any race gas in...oh well, to me it smells like home

 

Well, I would take propane smell over dead mouse and its **** any day.

 

I guess mines always smells like Burger King and pine freshner cause I always eat burger King in it And I have the little pine tree freshner. The guy that painted my car has a gsl-se and it always smells like old people....weird

 

My old '81 used to give me headaches from exhaust leaks, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong until I re-sealed the tail lights. Voila, problem solved. My '79 gives me a whiff of super-rich-open-exhaust every so often, but only when my window is down.

 

exhaust is coming in through the rubber but on the shifter, might be your problem.

Mine smells like race tires.... It's because of how much time my hoosiers spend in the trunk....
