ok, I have only these choices for intake...... Please tell me which on is the best for good power....... And where the power would be on which one..... And which ones you would rather have.............

I am just wondering.........

Oh yeah, the 48 IDA, and the 36 DCD's, are Webers. This is what is gonna go on a 12a motor And the motor, is gonna also have exhaust....... And is gonna have stock ports, and the motor is in a 79 RX-7.....

You have only one choice of intake if you want the 48IDA, for what it's worth...

However if you want a DCOE (sidedraft) type carb then there are probably a half-dozen ways to go about it.

 

One chioce for "NEW" intake manifolds.......... I was actually, gonna buy a KARSH intake, that would probably go for $40. If it went as cheap as it is.....I might just get it..... I really think I should.... I would really like, not having to mess, with the stock ****..... I am too stupid for that
I started taking this poll, because I wanted to know before I tried to buy it, so I know if I think I should try to buy it...... other wize, its gonna cost me $240 for the rotary engineering intake, and carbs, as opposed to this intake($30, for now) and a 48 IDA, my friend said he would sell me(I would probably trade him somtin) So it would be cheaper, to do that.....But I probably wont get it, because I am still stupid
Thats all, the IDA is cheaper than the dual 36's, and I would rather have performance....................as opposed to stock....................

as it has been mentiond before to me.. dual carbs are going to be a bitch to keep synced and tuned... sure you want to deal with that.

The IDA Weber is so easy to adjust.

You can change the jets, air-bleeds and emulsion tubes in about 5mins and it takes about 10mins to change the venturis and/or adjust the float level.

Great carb.

 

How does it fair, emissions-wise? Curious rexrs want to know...

 

I don't really know much about emissions since I live in Australia but I'd say there's a better chance of hell freezing over than of you passing emissions with an IDA Weber. If you stand behind the car at idle it almost makes you pass out from the fumes.

 

I would definitely get a Yawpower carb on a ported intake manifold. It's the cheapest and most streetworthy.

 

Yes, YawPower Nikkis are the best bang for the buck. You get a carb that was made for a rotary engine. Not one that was adapted to a rotary engine. Not that the other carbs are in any way not good. They have proven themselves before. Its just reliablity and drivability are key things to consider when doing a street modification to the intake of your street car.

 

Technically the Nikki was also adapted to the rotary... it's a 4-barrel version of a very common Hitachi 2-barrel carb.

But the techs at Mazda were the ones who adapted it. And since they probably worked with the techs that built the engines. I feel safe in saying it was made for the rotary.

 

Well lets see, me and David was working on his Weber setup once and found a mouse... Humm put him in a bucket and started the car up, mouse dead in 3 seconds. Id say it dont fair well emisison-wise
