Intake Idea
Hi' Im a new memder and had quite the idea. I was strolling through pep boys and saw a edelbrock filter called the pro flow 1000 and thought it would be a
huge improvment in flow over the stock snorkel. and it should just fall on. would it fit? who has tried it? and what do you guys think?

Using a Pro Flow 1000 setup from Edelbrock would not be a direct replacement. They sell a 2bbl model which is for a 2.265" air horn, and a 4bbl model with a 5.125" air horn.. My stock Nikki breather base measures ~3.878".
I'm not saying its not possible. An appropriate spacer could be fabbed..
My opinion is to just use the stock breather, modded like the one above, with a K&N drop in element.

this is the Edelbrock Pro Flow on my old 12a.
it is not a direct fit, and I dont believe you can get a adapter.
I made a adapter with a rubber PVC coupling, t was not the best but it worked.
Its a cool looking filter and flows well, see if you can get a adapter and go for it.

Wouldn't a K&N filter (drop in) be a better investment, especially when fabricating a cold air intake?
That Edelbrock filter is still taking air right above the hot engine, and actually looks to do so even worse then the stock one, which at least has a bit of a "snorkel".

Had one on my Cougar. Worked well enough there with one exception. The filter element isn't very fuel resistant or back fire resistant. Fuel directly on the foam will break it down. A single back fire through the carb will make you wonder where it disappeared to.
