Install pop-up sunroof?

Anyone installed a pop-up sunroof? I want one in my 85, but I don't want to cause potential problems. Anyone done this successfully?

I would SO love to have a non-sunroof model! It would be a lot easier than welding the steel skin in place and cutting all of the bracing out.

No sunroof = more room for helmeted heads

What good is a sports car if you can't take it to the track? That is the whole premise behind a sports car... something cheap that you can race and drive on the street too.

I agree with peejay. I prefer non-sunroof too. To me it feels like more of a racing car without the sunroof. However it is totally personal preference.

What kind of mechanism opens the sunroof. On my 82I have a lever that I move from the right to left. But at the junkyard I saw a 83 with a sunroof that had a much more complicated and big *** mechanism to move the sunroof up.

I wonder if my car came stock without a sunroof.

Actually I think if you have the glass roof in there, there is more room. The headliner hangs lower than the glass roof does, the glass roof gives you maybe 3/4" more
