install dizzy?

install dizzy?

I just got another 12a and the dizzy was out what marks do I use to line it up my haynes says yellow mark but I cant find it

Turn the engine till the keyway is at the 9 o'clock position (as viewed from the drivers seat). Then the engine is at TDC. It also happens to be in the middle of the shallow/cutout part of the FW counterweight.

the motor is in the truck and its a real pain in the neck I have it in but the motor wont start I have spark and fuel will it start with a carb that may be too big ? edelbrock 500cfm?

yea the key is @9 oclock... and the 1st mark is the tdc timing mark... then align the dot and the pointer and install.

if you turn thr engine clockwise, you'll come to 2 tally marks. the first one you come to, line it up with the pin on the front cover. it is your leading timing mark. the other mark should be painted red/orange and it is your trailing timing mark and is set using a diaphram on the distributer.
