Hmmmm
$65 for the Magnaflow 12614. Muffler is 14" long, and 20" with tube. 6" in diamater. That should fit in fine. It should make a fine replacement for the main cat on a 84-85.

Look into getting some new ones. Racing Beat puts a nice set in, but I called a friend in Japan and got a JSPEC set!

The reason you're not getting a good exhaust note is really because you've blown your flux capacitor. I've got a spare one i can sell you for $400

I have an old Pacesetter header. The Pacesetter headers aren't equal length that's for sure but it is a HUGE improvement over the stock exhaust manifold. Definitely noticable. Not just slightly. Even an inaccurate butt dyno would have no problem telling a power difference. Is it the best thing out there? Definitely not but it works quite nicely for what it is. The Racing Beat header is a quality piece. I used to have one of those on an older car. While it too is not equal length, it is very close. Both the Pacesetter and RB headers have outlasted the Mindtrain in the rust department and since you'll have to find a used one somewhere, don't bother.
I also think it's funny that someone doesn't want an RB muffler because they don't want to jump on the bandwagon but instead want to jump on the Magnaflow bandwagon. They are both good mufflers and no one can prove one makes more power than the other. At least not in this case. The RB mufflers are quite nice, flow well, and quiet really good. Magnaflow are also quality mufflers. Can't say anything bad about them. They do have the advantage of being cheaper. Use either one but don't think that you're not on a bandwagon just because you aren't using an RB.

Hey what's that to the left of the flux capacitor!
When I went off the mountain and totalled Pamela, the underside of the car took a lot of damage - but the RB muffler is fine! It's scratched where it scuffed a boulder, but unlike the fueal tank it didn't dent. That thing is built to last, I tells ya.

ISC racing makes a nice exhaust system. I'm going to be buying their components and then making them work with my Rotary Engineering header.
I say Borla Muffler, go Borla, yo.
