injector fitment (pix)

Ok so i just installed new fuel injectors and i dont like the way they fit in. when they are all bolted down the top gromit is really squashed down and when i pulled the old ones it was not like this. these are brand new injectors from fuel injector warehouse. i searched the fourm but didn't find anything about this. am i just crazy and this is how it should be or will this cause a problem for me such as leaking fuel.

a few pix of what im talking about

is it the injector connector that is getting into the grommet? or is it still like that if you unplug it?

Unplugging it doesn't change it. The grommet is still squashed down and doesn't fit into the fuel rail. I did blow into my fuel rail with it like this and it doesn't seem to leak but I still don't trust it.

It doesnt look right, I wouldnt run it if thats not how they came out. First of all, did you measure and compare to the old grommets? Second, assuming theyre the same size, did you try lubing up the grommets with some gas? Sometimes theyre a tight fit and need a little help with some lube to "pop" all the way in the rail. Also, have you tried installing the injectors into the rail first then setting them into the housing?

I did try to put them in the rails before putting on the housing. I'm going to try your other suggestions tomorrow. Thanks for the help

Makes sure there isn't an old seal stuck in the hole...

Compare the overall length of those injectors to your stock ones...if they are longer you will have to use a spacer underneath the fuel rail where it bolts to the center iron.

ok, so heres whats up. the grommets are MUCH bigger than the original ones. luckely i ordered the injector seal kit when i ordered my injectors thinking they didn't come with all the seals and grommets. so i searched the pile-o-parts and found them. and much to my dismay the kit was missing one of the upper grometts so i called injector warehouse told them the issues and now they are sending me a whole new injector seal kit out. hopefully they send the right one.
