The Impact You Guys Have

Three years ago. 2004 BMW 330 ZHP Coupe. Leaking oil everywhere. Sell it in a panic as dont know crap about cars.
Two years ago. 1981 RX7 FB. Purchased with my son with NO idea what we were getting in to.
One year ago. 1981 RX7 FB. Engine rebuild. Transmission. Clutch. Carb. Radiator. Suspension bushings. Rack and pinion. Seats.
Now. 2001 Lexus GS300. All sorts of leaks and issues... but son and I look at each other and say 'no problem, good car and we can fix it.'

On the flight back from looking at the car The Kid and I were talking about how much that little RX7 has changed us. No longer scared of looking under the hood of a car. No longer scared of rolling up our sleeves and learning. All thanks to you guys on the First Gen forum.

Hats off to you.

Knowledge (of any kind) is empowering.
Imagine what else you can learn to improve your career or make your life more interesting.

It has definitely helped me meet people I would have never met , some from this forum and others at meets . I still have anxiety when fixing my car because I'm scared to break things but I have also done job's most people would think were beyond their reach ( carb , brakes , radiator , suspension , oil hoses etc) and fixed random issues and understand much more of what makes these cars run . I'm sure once the time comes i will get around to actually rebuilding a engine and swapping to a manual trans all because you guys put up with my annoying questions !
I thank you all , I really do take your guys advice and try to follow instructions as best I can.

We all started with ZERO knowledge, and gradually built it up, either through trial and error, or by asking questions.
