Amazing looking FB I'd love to know more about it and who owns it. Here's hoping the owner (or someone who knows the owner) takes notice!

If this car used to be all black I think I've seen it on a towtruck driving through Ajax before, about 4 years ago. It also had a giant 7 on the door like that.

That is nice to see, reminiscent of the 1979 Factory Racer that won the 24hrs of Daytona. Hope there's some go to go with the show!

car was definitely modeled after that car... even had the "powered by rotary" logo on the bottom of the back wing.

That would be this car, before the body work

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCHEilSV5LA

its my brothers car. You can hear the port in the video, motor built by danny manning. Lots of mods done to this. It belonged my dad , Nick, well known in the rx-7 / racing community. its track prepped, meant for circuit racing, but was able to pull off a 13.8 in the 1/4. NA!

Ya its not too fuel friendly . It was a custom port for my dad. motor has seen many track days. Won back to back events at king of the hill at mosport, so much that they asked my dad to stop competing because the domestic boys who had new vetts and what not were getting upset. anyone who knows this car, knows its seen its track days.

Oh man, I remember this car and Nick from back in the day. Brutally fast driver with no fear. Every lap was faster and faster until he threw the car off the track somewhere. Watching him going around the Mosport big track was terrifying. You knew it was going to end badly, but you couldn't take your eyes off the car as it was totally amazing how many times he would save it from some crazy angle or tire lock up. Lots of great memories.

I also love the fact that the Danny Manning Steel Apex Seal BP is still strong and revving to the moon. Built right, a motor using all Mazda pieces can work very well and for a long time.

Eric

Hey Eric, for sure a true testament to Danny and the quality behind his work. Also, to the reliability of the rotary motor if built right and maintained properly. I remember that one time he went at it with the a Le mans driver driving a Porsche, and they kicked both of them off for going at it. The le mans mad had to shake Nicks hand for keeping up and making him work.

Hey Eric, I spoke with my dad, he says Hi, and remembers the good old days too. He lives in Germany now. He sends his regards, and if you want his email address i can pass that along to you.
