Im Soo Excited!!! Big progress on tII swap.
Alright, heres the deal.
My dad and I usually go on spring break together.
first two years we went snowboardin, last year we went to a four day racing school down in texas, but this year he has business over spring break.
Sooooo, because he is paying for my sisters flight to mexico, he decided to give me $500 to add to my car over spring break. (im at college now and cant work on the car)
Heres whats on its way,
New stainless t4 divided flange for modifying the OBX manifold.
20 feet of goodridge 6an for fuel, and 10ft of 10an for the oil cooler line.
16 6an fittings and 6 10an fittings (goodridge)
Billet alluminum EFI fuel pressure regulator from mustange warehouse
1680 bosch fuel injectors.
oil cooler adapters from mazdatrix.
this should be everything to finish the fuel system.
if I dont have any major problems remounting the fuel cell, I should be able to start it (that is, if I do everything right). I still have to pull the front cover and mod it again for a 10an return (while the motor is in the car, stupid me for not doing this before) I also have to install the haltech and put some other peices together.
But I have a whole week, non stop.
Im so excited. I will be sure to post pics with it finished.
should sound pretty nuts running through a open OBX manifold at the back of my garage.

Cool!! Take pics!!
A small word of advice. Don't buy the -AN fittings until you have the lines run and know what you specifically need. I ended up having many leftovers, thinking I needed them. They are expensive as hell too.
Just plan them out, and write out where you would need a 90, 180, swivel, etc. Then order them.
Good Luck!

Let me know how thats going, remember, I got your old 12a engine and tranny. Actually the tranny is still holding up to my boost on my streetport 12a. But haven't driven it since its salty out yet. We'll have to meet when its going good and race. LOL!!

You still gonna be using the poly cell? I just got a nice FIA approved ATL cell off ebay. The guy is selling 12gal cells for $400.

Yeh, im still using the poly one. I plan to change it out to a nice metal/bladder one soon. But right now that isnt a huge priority, as all my money is going to getting the car running. Also, unless I get a custom one made, I wont be able to use the stock filler door.
Thanks for the heads up on fittings. I havent ordered the fittings yet, for the same reason as you just said. most of the fittings should be straight, which are a lot cheaper. But Im sure I will need a few angled ones.
wacky, I expect that that transmission will hold up for some time. That thing was by FAR the best tranny I have ever used. Smoothest, fastest shifting evar.
and yes, we will have to race. although, Im more of a road race guy than drag.

street car, but my real goal is to race in the Targa Newfoundland.
I saw it on tv, and was like "this is what I want to do!!"
I also used to work at a Donnybrook, so I get invited to all these sports car and exotic car invitationals at Brainerd and Road America.
Its mostly Ferraris and Porsches, and here I am in my 82 Rx7 with less than 100 hp, chainsaw exhaust and 20 year old suspesion and brakes. But I still did okay and posted 114 on the strait. There was a RUF CTR2 sport there the last time I went.
I want something that I can hold its own. I know soome of the other drivers through family also, and I would like to gain there respect, automotive wise.
One of the guys is the owner of the Dayton/target, and that whole deal. I went to highschool with his son and we were friends. His son has a pretty badass all motor focus, with Ford Racing cylinderheads and other crazy ****. The father has a number of rediculous cars.
I can't wait to race them both.

82streetracer, you should give Vintage sports car racing(VSCR) a try on their "Test days" in St. Cloud. I do that every summer on a short road course in St. Cloud, its low cost and seat time is hard to beat per cost. Or, you can also always go with the corvette club up to BIR if you can afford it.
Its not a high speed course, speeds typically top out with the fastest cars at about 110-120 in the short straights. But in reality, you don't need much horsepower to kick *** there, its all about driving skill in corners and such. And your tires get worn down quickly there. I do agree drag racing is WAY WAY less fun then course racing.

Good to hear you're making progress. I'm too busy going backwards the car is in 100 pieces for some revisions.

also, on the fuel cell, when I finally lowered the car, I found it sat too low.
I have to cut out the spare tire well and move it up. But it should look better and be safer.
Wacky, a few people have told me about St cloud, and I have family out there so Ill probably check it out. Do you have any more info on it. Maybe I can go out there with you some time
The brainerd invitationals that I go to cost about $400.
This gets me about 7-8 hours of track time, dinner the night before and a DANK suite and some Dank hotel. Its a lot of fun. I also get to ride in some of the sweetest cars ever, and drive some too.
I drove the daytons 67 Ferrari GT SWB, in full race trim with alluminum body and stripped interior, that was something else!
and its pretty much a full on race from donnybrook in wayzata all the way to brainerd.
My first year up there (I was in my moms miata, as my car was a crown vic, two guys got arrested for streetracing at 150+!!!!, HOW ******* CRAZY IS THAT)
Setzep, did you take the oil pan off completely when you had to take the cover off, I was hoping to just loosen it mostly and then get the cover off.

82streetracer, I will look and see if I have their website yet, I just sent in my renewal dues for VSCR a week ago. Its $30 to be a member, and $50 per each Test day. Thats pretty cheap for how fun it is to do. Its the 2nd saturday of each warm month: May -through September each month. I went to 4events this past year, missed the June one though.
All you need is a "Safe" sports car-meaning not falling apart and good tires, and they'll let you go out and have some fun. And a Snell 2000 or newer rated helmet.
I heard going with the corvette club to BIR is $140 about for the day. Course theres no meal or anything, just driving is all.

Heres the link to VSCR
Vintage Sports Car Racing
Get info, sign up. Not as fast as BIR speedwise, but still tons of fun, IMO. Its a good course to learn proper lines through corners and such.
A couple of the guys I typically meet up with there ride their FD's at BIR too. I really wanted to go last year, but just might this time around.
I REALLY hope to see VSCR events dominated more by RX-7's, as that shows they are infact great course cars.
I got my Turbo'd streetport 12a running REALLY perfect after the september Test Day, and didn't get the chance to kick *** with it, instead I used my '88 Rx-7. So I'm really pumped to be able to pass lots of people now since my FB's acceration is as good as FD's(at least up to 100mph or so) and will match my ablity to handle the corners with it as well.

At the moment I really don't of any good ones, you can't have mine! But hows the engine running for you? Send a PM or email. My friend Matt is in AZ, you should see if you can convince him to buy a rust free FB and have him drive it up here for you when spring comes?
