Im scratchin my head with a gasket
The vacuum leak may have been found had to take off intake manifold (long boring story), order new gaskets. Once intake manifold is off I discover that the aluminum box as I call it sits on top of intake manifold between carburetor and intake manifold. Fuel & air come down the box out the side pipe into the turbo. Where the square box and the side pipe connect a hole punched through (poorly machined) hole fixed but side pipe box does not clear top of intake manifold creating a space I have two gaskets from the carb repair kit but still have a gap. I was going to use a permatex type gasket maker/sealant. Go to parts store parts guy says whoooo boy dont use that on an intake side not near carb use thicker gaskets. I buy gasket kit bunch of gasket material. First question it has thick cork gaskets one of these should do, can you use cork between intake and turbo carb box? Will gas effect the cork? Second question if I end up using several thinner gaskets should they be glued together with a gasket sealer the ones in a spray can? Need the advice of the experts on the forum
