Thumbs down I'm a dumb ***

This morning I get up and try to start the seven but flooded it soon after.I ran the battery down trying to start her with no avail, no problem I have a spare in the garage. So i put the spare in and hook it up the wrong way (pos to neg) 2 secs later I smell some wire burning and I quickly disconnect the wire and realize what i did. I still feel like a dumb *** and even more of a **** head cause I keep doing stupid things to my 7.

So I try to start her with the wires correct this time and the lights go on (yay) and I try to crank it and all I hear is a *click* and then the lights go out and they won't come back on. Can someone help me out and steer me in the right direction?

You've blown a fuseible link, three wires on a brown bracket mounted on your drivers side suspension housing, replace with the plastic encased fuses at $2 @.....Oh and search deflooding procedure....it'll save you a lot of hassles

Check the coils too to make sure they are not burnt out, a friend did that to mine and the car started but idled funny and missed when revved.

My guess is that your battery is dead. Click and then lights go out and don't come back is due to a dead battery.

You wouldn't be getting any click at all if your Fusible Links were burned out - check out the one called 'MAIN' on that block.

As an aside, I think what happened was that when you hooked up your battery backwards, it instantly shorted out whatever voltage it had left in it, causing the battery to die instantly. You may be able to recharge it, but best bet would be to get a known good battery from somewhere and see if the car will start. If not, go from there toward troubleshooting the electrical.

Easier to start with the easy things first.

I think that you just have a bad connection at the battery. I bet if you play with the terminals the lights will come right back on. Same thing happens to me once and a while and. I have all new terminals that I'm going to install once I get a chance
