Im back ....

I havnt been here in a few days so I thought I should share. My son was born on 8-15-02, at 7:17AM. He weighed in at 7lb 12oz and was 19 1/4" long. His name is Gabriel. I just had to share here in the First gen section, we are all just one big happy family.

Also, I finally got the mechanical water temp gauge installed and functioning.

peace

thanks jeremy, I mounted the sensor in the old location with the adapter that came with the gauge. I took it to a friends machine shop and he re-threaded it on a lathe. when I put it in I coated it with silicon to prevent leaks. I went with the mech to reduce all the electrical draw, I have been eliminating all unneeded electrical equipment.

your not going to be accurate i don't think. the sensor/gauge is based on the sensor's size/mass. that is why you couldn't use the stock sensor. i'm not sure how much it will change it but i believe it might. you might want to email autometers tech and ask them of that will have any adverse effects. hell you're going to be up nights now anyway.

lol, I was assuming about a 10 deg difference in temp reading when I started all this mess. When I started the install I found the only way to run the wire was to follow the fuel line to the fire wall. There is not enough to route all around the engine bay. so far I havnt noticed any extremely off the wall readings but havnt had time to fix the idle or the bog when accellerating from a stop. Having trouble telling if it is timing or fuel.

you haven't check your timing yet? its pretty easy and quick. is the carb rebuilt? might be your accelerator pump.

carb is rebuilt and put back together (whether its right or not is a different story) the timing is a problem because I changed the pulleys from an 81 to the 85 I bought from Mike and there isnt any mark to allign it with like the 81 had. I just afraid to remove the front bolt to remove and align it correctly( afraid the torsen bearings are gonna fall and get crushed upon tightening) if it is out its not by much because it runs like a champ aside from the bog upon accel and a slight miss at idle
