Can I use an 81 front cover from a 12A in an 88 13B???

 

I highly doubt 1st and 2nd gen front ends are interchangeable without major modifications.

I have heard that in order to do the swap you need the GSL-SE front cover and rear cover. Never had a 12a though.

typically people use the GSL-SE front cover and oil-pan because it is the most direct swap... the GSL-SE OMP uses 4 oil injectors like the S4/S5 engines do...

the front covers from the 12A work well, the only issue is in the OMP... but then again, we should be pre-mixing anyway.

Because down here you need to keep the engine serie number, the one on the front cover. Otherwise you have to do endless paperwork and they might not let you use the one that comes with the 13b

My engine seems to be in bad shape and someone offered me a 13b

will a 13b bolt to the 12a tranny???
