Can anyone suggest a good transmission for my sa? Can a Rx8 6spd handle 250-300 Hp? What about the G-force T5? Any links would be helpful.

All I've heard is that the RX-8 trannys are shitty. I wonder if they are planning on fixing that or not... As for the g-force ? never heard of it. You could go for the gsl-se tranny, or possibly a s4 tranny.

a GSL-SE tranny would take a **** on you,after 200ish HP.......S4 TII is a better choice(easier to find and "easier/cheaper to mount it"...............IMO)

Some good info here. http://www.mazdatrix.com/g1.htm

I was at a race last weekend and one of the guys told me he was running a T5 or T something tranny and that it was a bolt in???? He came in first so I guess it works ok.

TII probably.
The 2nd gen turbo trannies are very stout, can handle 400hp easily.
Actually, torque is what you measure to determine a tran's power handling capacity.A 400hp rotary would make around 350lb ft depending on tuning.

The TII tranny is a relatively easy swap since the bellhousing matches up to any late 70's to present rotary.Youll have to juggle some clutch/flywheel things and have a new driveshaft made up,but the rest is pretty easy and itll be the last tranny youll likely ever need.
Do a search, theres lots of info about the swap......
