So I have a 1980 with no engine or transmission. Months of searching for rotary engines have lead me to the logical conclusion. 302s are easy to find, easy to drop in and reliable. So after suffering from high anxiety, and fighting the urge to pick up the banjo I have succumbed to my desires.

I'm still pursuing keeping the SA22 with a 12a. as nature intended.

that v8 was a heavy load to shoulder.

Well, not exactly gross, but gross in the same way Donald Trump is gross.

Total perversion.

My first instinct is to vomit.

But I'm trying to keep an open mind on the boinger.

Trump too, I'm a liberal after all.

But a 302s would totally destroy that sweet 50:50 weight ratio.

Isn't this why we want to have a 12A in the first place?

When in question, always remember the Golden Rule: Boingers are Bad, Wankels are Wonderful.

Good to hear mother nature knocked some sense into you Richard, just in time.

Let's see the updates. (Don't believe what you hear, 12A's are out there for the taking).

12A's rule.

I got to drive my friend's Corvette yesterday. Just around the block. The first time I ever drove one of these. I have to say its power to weight is similar to my Nikki powered FB. But his, being a V8, has power at 2000, that mine has at 3000. But then I floor mine and it's more impressive in some ways than his. But then I'm boosted and his is NA and quite stock. So not bad at all; either one.

I of course prefer the FB rotary powered. No need for a V8 to have Corvette-like performance in your FB. You just have to take some necessary steps to get it there. But then everything in life is like that.

If you did do a V8, there is such a thing as untractable. You have to be ready to assume the risks.

I've never understood the V8 (or any other piston engine) swap. If the RX-7 wasn't rotary powered I would have purchased a different car. It's what makes it unique and special and gives it unique driving characteristics.
