I really did try to search first
I really need to know if 215/60r14 tires will fit on the front of my 84 GSL-SE, with stock suspension and stock wheels. If anyone can give me a for sure answer it would be appreciated. I did try to search but all I found was contradicting information. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hit the inside of the front of the wheel well (the metal part) at anything near full lock sitting still. Worse when going over even minor bumps while underway and turning. Also rubbed against the anti-roll bar. Bad enough they came off within 2 days. Tried them again when I got the RB springs just to see. It was even worse. The tires never interfered with the springs. I used the 215s on the rear for a while then put all 4 on my RX-4 with 14" 1st gen LE wheels. Worked great on the RX-4, but I think it is more tire than you need on an stock 1st Gen. I like 205-60-14 on stock wheels. If you want to fill the fender opening you should consider aftermarket wheels and lower profile tires as mentioned above.

I am trying to get a little wider contact patch in the rear as I have swapped in a fuel injected 5.0. H.O. into the car. I was going to try running 215 so I could still raotate the tires.

Too big, plus it will be a bitch to steer. I had a GSLSE with some real sticky 185/70r14 hr rated tires that steered and cornered beautiful, but they were getting pretty worn out. Then i put some 205/60hr14's from my other SE on and the sweet steering went away......tire selection can affect sooooo much. For stock rims, I would run 185/70r14 front and 215/60r14 back in some hr rated tires (like traction t/a's)
