Exclamation I need everyone to give input on this

Ok so i had this idea thanks to another thread that i just read.......

There is a ton of 13B F.I. stuff around.... (considering that most of the Rx-7's ever made were F.I.)

If and almost all of us here have 12A's in our car.

And lastly there isnt much available for us with the 12A to do F.I.

So if we use this adapter http://www.mazdacomp.com/intakesystems.htm wouldnt we be able to use any of the available 6 Port 13B F.I. stuff out there?

We all know that there are about a million S4 and S5's in the junk yards so getting a complete intake with injectors and an ecu should be both easy as well as cheap....

Now I am quite good with a wrench and i do work at a dealership so i have a fully stocked shop as well as a parts department, but where i lack is in electronics....

Lets figure this out.

12A Fuel Injected 7's would be cool as hell and i think it would open up a whole world of options to us......

If this is a STUPID idea or has been tried and failed please dont flame me.

Thanks
Jason

If you look carfully, all those adaptors are for fitting old style carb intakes to newer EFI engine blocks.Far as I know, there are no adpators to go the other way,13B intakes to 12A block.
It wouldnt be easy to adapt a 6 port intake to a 4 port block, they are quite different.A TII 4 port intake would be a better setup. Also, the 12A doesnt have any injector bungs in the center plate,so the primary(and only) injectors would be in the lower intake, feeding into the secondary ports.During low speed operation, there is no airflow through these ports since the secondary throttle plates are closed.Installing an SE center plate would fix this, but requires a rebuild.
The easiest way to EFI a 12A is still the individual throttles and injectors, which are availible and simple...

The GSL-SE and other FI rotaries have the primary injectors in the center housing. You would need to swap the center plate with one from a GSL-SE to make everything work directly. You may be able to use that additional injector plate (on the bottom of the page) for the injectors.

The GSL-SE uses just 2 injectors. The later FI cars had 4 (primary and secondary). Since the 12A is a 4 port, you would need a 4 port manifold (say from a TII, the NA 13Bs are 6 port). You can also get Weber and Holley style throttle bodies, corresponding manifold, and MegaSquirt or similar for ECU.

You can get adapter plates to run TII manifolds on a 12A. The beauty of that is the plate is thick enough to be able to fit injector bungs in the primaries.
