Fuseable links my man. AS a ford mechanic at a ford dealer i can say 250's have huge alt's like 140 amps. There might have been a huge voltage spike when you hooked it up. They also sit right at 17-18 volts too.
Gotta love the the dual battery's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buddy of mine just blew his alt jumping his car from a 08 f350 king ranch lol!!!
If i where you i would look into swapping the fc fuse block in its pretty easy!

those are your fuses,if you have a test light check them and replace as needed and dont jump started with that diesel truck its got two batteries not sure how much volt they put but it could be to much for the 7.

i feel dumb i should of just backed my crown vic in front of my car tent. i just got the car off the stands and the battery back in(didnt change any wiring). as soon as the wheels hit the ground i heard my dad's truck and thought yeah that thing will give a good jump. guess it did.

thanks guys my brother came home like 10 mins after i posted this and gave me the answer, he worked at my uncles shop and new what they where once he saw the block. i went to the local store and they said they didnt have any for my car but if i new how many amps i need then i can just use other ones with out ends and crimp the female ends on. so any one know how many amps i need. my Chilton's doesn't say how many amps they are just say they are a type of fuse.

ill look in to the second gen setup. but i just want to be able to start my car and take a video of my new gilmer setup and hear how the racing beat header sounds. ive put so much work in to my car. and the last week ive done every thing i could to get my car off the jack stands so i could hear it run. ive worked my *** off saving money and doing all the work my self and i started to think i just messed my whole car up because i didnt want to take the extra 5 mins to back my dd car up to my tent.

what link was it look on the link cover. You can ghetto it for the time being with a paper clip but if you get the rating of the cover or if we knew which one it is you could wire in a inline fuse type deal. I am sure its the main one though cant rember how many amps they are!

Littelfuse PAL style or similar are a good replacement. They just plug right in, and any auto store should have them.

Sizes are 2x 20A and 1x 50A

Any chance you got the cables backwards when you tried to jump start the car?

I also replaced my fusible links with inline fuses, but I believe I used 15/30/15 amp fuses. No issues at all since then. Good luck man.
