I keep falling out of my seat when Im cornering. what should I do.

I recently installed kosies, khumo supra tires, B&G springs and illumina shocks.

This thing hugs curves like nothin else.

The problem is I cant stay in my seat. Im a pretty big guy (235, 6'1") so holding myself in the seat, trying to corner/drift and manipulate the gas brake and clutch is a huge ordeal.

I have a s and the seats look cool but do very little to hold you in place.

I am thinking of installing a racing seat and a set of harnesses. Has anyone done this,

or is there a better seat to install. I heard Turbo II seats kick *** and are a strait bolt on.

Race seat.

If you don't feel like spending $110-180 for a race seat, go to the auto parts store and get a $4 seatbelt clip. Instead of using it the way it's intended, use it to cinch the seatbelt tighter! Put the clip on the shoulder belt side of the buckle and use the clip to really cinch the lap belt tight against your hips (NOT ACROSS YOUR WAIST - ACROSS YOUR HIPS!). This way your *** is securely planted in your seat and you can use your back muscles to hold your upper body upright instead of your arm muscles, which should only be concerned with the steering wheel. Makes "sporting" driving much easier.

I wouldn't bother with any FC seats. They have even worse lateral support than torn up SA seats

Actually I was in an FC autocrossing this weekend past, and the side bolsters were quite a nice change.

Then again I actually like the seats in the new Hyundai Tiburon, so no accounting for taste...

The NA seats do suck, but TII ones are pretty nice.

Who needs new seats? get a 3 point harness. My step-brother had one in his suzuki swift. unless there are going to be other people driving your car, because they suck to adjust all the time.

um, technically the stock seatbelts ARE 3-point harnesses

go 5-point. Or just do my little $4 seatbelt clip thing.

go to the camping supply store and pick up some nylon straps with the plastic clip things. two should do. use one for your waist to strap you in better and one for your chest. i've also seen someone duct tape his torso to the seat. but the nylon straps are reuseable

not sure about sparco seats, but corbeau seats may be worth a gander.

Hmmmm...Thanks Captain...I was looking at the Sparco Torinos, but at $599 each, it makes it hard to afford them. I went to the website you suggested, and what do you know, the Corbeau A4 looks kinda like the Sparco Torino, and at only $320 per seat, it makes them a little more affordable . Here are some pics, tell me if you think they look similar .

Sparco Torino

Corbeau A4

I think Ill go for the Corbeau .

~T.J.

PS - I wanted the Torino mostly because this car wil be track AND road use (road trips to Oregon and stuff), I wanted a reclining back seat for comfort also, which Sparco only makes two of, the Torino ($599), and the Milano ($889). The Corbeaus are real nice substitute because not only do they look just as good, the price makes them look lots better. Thanks .

rotormotordriver -

it almost looks like they're made from the same patterns/molds. i betcha the only differences would be that the sparcos are backed by lighter weight materials with higher quality fabric.

the price is what kept me outta the Sparcos.

What if you plan to reupholster the seats to match your interior? Will they ship them 'nude' with a pattern for the upholstery?

Why spend as much as a 1st-gen is worth just for a seat?

Get a Kirkey! The Intermediate is an extremely comfortable seat and can be had for about $180-190 with a cover. The Economy is OK for comfort (I have no probs but some people might object to it) and can be had for about $100-120 with cover.

just get 2 rolls of duct tape, and you'll be set.... maybe some giant-sized zip-straps? (cable ties)

thats what i want too. the kirkey is an aluminum seat and has the typical high sides, highter and more difficult to get into then most fiberglass/kevlar seats. i wouldn't suggest that unless its a race only. my gf's brother thought it would be cool to have in his s10 until he had to use it everyday. i just attach velcro to the seat of my pants and the seat. you can also do this to your shirt for extra grip.

yeah it's a PITA but the low-sides moels are pointless, might as well have a stock seat.
