I have a huge problem , help!
Ok I just ran into a very big problem , When I bought my 84 gs it came with a new clutch kit but the engine was fried from overheating . So I began to do an engine swap with my 81 gsl motor (slightly modded)
I decided that I wanted to clean the 84 up a little before doing the transplant (so my chance to return and swap the clutch kit is gone ) I finally finished sanding and painting and polishing the engine bay and pulled the motor out of my 81 . well I decided that it would be easier to change the clutch and remove the stock exhaust with the motor out . I also clecided to clean it up a little in the hard to reach areas , Finally I removed the old clutch and began to install the new ,but it wouldnt fit (84 pressure plate on an 81 flywheel ) I began to closely examine the differences between the two flywheels and noticed that the 84 is approx 1 1/2" thicker than the 81 and there are also 2 more mounting bolts on the 84 .
Now here is my dilemma , do I ....
1. swap flywheels (if possible)
2. toss the clutch kit and buy one for the 81
3. reuse the old pressure plate
4. buy an uzi and go POSTAL
5. Quit bitching and get over it and call the whole thing off
seriously people I need to know what to do and if the swap is possible anything that needs attention (mystery springs , detonation buttons , waldo)or is it just the removal of the big nut (hehe)?
tia
Peace

how do I do that
anything I need to be carful of (pins , keys , other hidden dangers)
Also tools (besides the known huge mamma-jamma holding the flywheel)
Peace
Ps : I know that everyone here needs to sleep , but I thought that I was special and that everyone would jump at my beckon/call. (lol)
