well if you want a slower car, there's a perfect base

Unless of course you either do mad weight reduction, or get a TII

You can fix the steering yourself.
Does the rear end leak? I'm not sure if it has a gasket or not.

Shhhh!
Don't use such harsh words around your car. She can hear you.
She might get mad and not start.

Anyway, you said that you have a bad rear-end problem. Explain it, we can help. If it is vibration it could be your driveshaft U-joints or, as in my case, a broken pinion gear. As for the steering this is a good link to adjusting the box. I have not done this yet, but I plan to sometime.

If you want it to be fast you could do anything from streetporting it with bigger carb or just do a turbo motor swap.

I hear you there! I'm feeling the same way about mine, although in my case the problem isn't the car, but the dummy that keeps forgetting to call around and find the right parts. Amazing how a $2.00 gasket can hold up a whole project!

It is rough, though, looking outside at the salt-free streets, and the sunny skies, and knowing that I can't be out there tearing up the asphalt. I'm in a little worse shape, though: The FB is blocking my bike and until I can get the rear suspension and brakes put back together, I can't move it out the way! So, no motorcycle, and no RX-7. I'm wasting away again in Saturnsville.
