It could be your syncros are shot or your clutch may be shot.

double clutch it and it should work okay. Mine does that sometimes too. Expecially in reverse. Just be careful and obviouisly dont try to force it.

check the connection between the harness and the wiper motor, chances are its falling apart like all of mine are. Just cut it out and solder hte wires, that *should* do it, if not, then lube all the pivot points on the assembly. If its still bad, then it might be the switch or the motor.

I usualy try not to dirve w/my wiper on, it is much more comfortable without them in my view. If you put some rain-x type stuff on your window you probably won't even need wipers for light-moderate rain, even in heavy rain I usaualy am ok.

But I would'nt suggest using a car w/no wipers at all!

As for the trans... what can I say. When they get old they wear out and can be a pain in the *** sometimes. My brother just changed his trans out cause it finaly died. He couldn't even get the thing into gear w/the clutch out. He had to pull with all his might to get it in 2nd then 4th so he could make it home! Got a nice replacement from the yard though!

Rain-X is a bitch to put on, but 6!!! years later, I still get minor benefit from the last time I put it on. I will definitely reapply it before next summer and the rainy season

if the syncros are shot you need th either get really good at double clutching or its time fro a rebuild. I would recomend drainging your fliud and replacing it with Redline Shock Proof Gear oil.... Seems to help alot with worn out trannys....

Hells ya... I kinda scared myself during the "First time"... took off from a stop sign, spinning, shifted into second, got a little sideways, all of a sudden, the back end came up to meet me, and I was facing the other direction, 6 inches away from a curb

Take your car into a competent shop to have your car completely inspected and have all defects repaired. Closest place to you is Mazdatrix in Signal Hill.
