You are too late, the body has already flexed. You should have done this first.....

You might be able to prevent it from flexing any further. But if you ever decide to do something like this in the future, do us all a favor, research it heavily... Because it is never just "that simple"

Yeah I definatly will do that, I never even though about that. But I am not driving it until I drive it over to my buddies to install the rollcage to prevent any further damage.

Dan, please don't think its all haters here, we're honestly concerned for your, your passengers and other people on the road's safety.

That said, if you measure the car's roof gap and compare it to your uncut car, if its good weld in a couple of braces temporarily to hold the shape until you get the cage "welded" in. If its closed at all, try supporting the underside with a large piece of 2 X 10 lumber across the entire floor under the cut area and then jack it carefully, measuring regularly. No guarantees but it may bring the roof back to original position until you can get the cage in again.

I repeat, we appreciate someone doing things to improve the cars and using imagination but be sure they actually are done safely in future, I have a race car shell pretty heavily cut up at this time, but I wouldn't dream of removing the roof.

Cage does not have enough points. You will need a 10-12 point cage to tranfer the rigidity to the front strut towers. The cage you posted will stiffen from, but not including, the A-pillar back. Body will still fold up where the A-pillar meets the floor pan.

Scott, couldn't the front bars be tagged to the A pillar, using strips of metal and welding them from the cage to the pillar. Rally cars use this method to gain extra strength.

Probably could, if it can be worked around the doors so that they still work and the bars don't protrude into the passenger compartment too far.

I would keep as much presure as possible off of the tops of the A-pillar from the dash up. Without the roof structure in place, those bars are flimsy and cannot support the loads any more.

To stiffen it up properly, I think he will stll need to add door bars that are X-ed from the bottom of the door glass down, or Nascar style door bars. Yes, I tend to over build for safety, but you usually only get one chance if you're wrong.
