I almost crapped myself
So I'm at work and get this phone call from my girlfriend. My 1982 rx7 had been hit while parked in front of my apartment. She sent me this picture.

This two weeks after I replace my wheel bearings, suspension and brakes. The guy was on the job delivering food for some sort of delivery company, and he said he cut the corner too much. Got the guys info thanks to my neighbors, and their farmers insurance is towing the car for an estimate tomorrow morning. This sucks, won't it get totalled out? My car has 151k on it.

Don't let them total it, man! You're not even at 100 posts, yet!!
Seriously, they will probably try to total it and tell you they get to keep the car, but I'd suggest asking them to settle on the damages based on you fixing it yourself, and they will cut you a check, but far less than the repair amount would have been. If you allow them to total it for the full value repair check - they own your car. Guess where it goes after that? Straight to the junkyard.
Keep it on the road - that damage is mostly cosmetic and could be fixed with a hammer, a new bumper strut, some ingenuity and some blended paintwork. Stay with it,

Have RX-7, will restore

You may not even want to report that to the insurance company. You can buy the parts to repair it yourself for less than your deductible and your insurance rates won't go up and then there's no chance of getting your car crushed.
I would replace the fender, the bumper cover, the aluminum bumper behind the cover as its trashed, the header panel if you can't straighten it, and the lower valance. However, it appears as though only two of the bolts were ripped through the plastic. With a soldering iron and some added plastic, that valance would be good as new. Then after all the parts are replaced, you'll have a better understanding of how the car was put together and will have even more pride in your 7. The repaint will cost some money, but when its done, your car will look new again and that's not all that bad.

^ There's your answer. Seems like your car was going to need a repaint soon anyways, judging by the cancer spot on your hood.
This is precisely why I was so paranoid when my rex, which is normally garage kept, was left parked on the side of the street for less than 2 hours while the garage was cleaned. And everyone kept looking at me like I was crazy...

Ugh... Good thing my typing etiquette is better than my speech. I cussed up a storm when I learned they totalled my car. I got the option to buy it back though. Tomorrow morning I will try to bring it home, and start from there.

I've fixed an rx7 in worse condition before. My radiator wasn't damaged, I may need a new fmoc, I can straighten most damage out and deal with the rest. It just pisses me off because literally the only damage this 7 had before this was from the sun, and now it gets a salvage title.

Good luck on getting it fixed. I am heading to Ashville NC to pick up a first gen racecar that I am putting my 13B in and then go racing

Well, I got it back home. Still angry... There's a lot less damage than it looked like. Don't think it deserved being totalled out... But now it's time to take it apart and see what I can do for it.

There we go got the bumper off. All I need is a good bumper with turn signals and a passenger headlight bucket, and I should be street legal. I think now I need to make a want to buy post in the classified forum.

Good job, man! Glad to hear it. You should have no problems finding the needed parts and you saved another one from the scrapper or pick-a-part. Nice work,

Looking good so far. My girlfriend and I used rubber mallet and pliers and bent the headlight area back into shape and installed a new headlight. It works now I need a bumper shipped to Oregon...
