How to turbo my 12a....
I'm probably going to buy a second RX-7 in the next few days. It's a 1985 GS, and it's basically in near perfect condition. A small dent in the door, and a bunch of scratches are it's only flaws. I really wanted to drop in a nice 13b but included with the car is a turbo from an '87 TII, and the collector. I've spent some time searching for info, but there are so many threads that mention turbo's that it's hard to find the info I need. Here's what I've found so far...
I can make the TII manifold fit by ovaling out the holes and grinding the exaust ports a little bit. I know you need a rising pressure regulator, and I keep seeing that I have to mod the carb. What mods have to be done to the stock Nikki, and what would be a good cheap rising pressure regulator? I am really trying to stay as cheap as possible, because I don't need another expensive project, but I want to get a fair bit of power from this car. So, what problems will I run into, and what will I have to do to install this turbo on the 12a? I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures and do a nice build up site.
