How to remove the buzzer?

Does anyone know an easy way to disable the buzzer that comes on at high rpms, it is really annoying! If there is no easy way, how do i do it if i have to remove the steering wheel? I saw a website about that but lost the link for it. Any help is appreciated

You have to pull out the guage cluster. Once you have it out you'll see the buzzer on the back of the cluster. Then it's just a matter of disconnecting the wires.

Look for the potentiometer dial. May have a piece of white paint put over it. A little screw inside of a square box.

Turn clockwise to increase the RPM it buzzes at.

Or, disconnect.

yeah, i just removed the screw on the back of the cluster that was screwed in for the 12v supply of it (i think).

anyway, look on the back of it and you will see some marking that will give you a hint that screw is it

I love that little buzzer.

Without it, I would rev til the car caught on fire. My honda hits a rev limiter at 6500 or something, and cuts off. The Rx-7 at least lets you have a little extra....but still tells you it's bad.

With sticky secondaries and aggressive driving, that buzzer has caused so many innocent people to be flicked off...

Before I knew what it was, I'd blaze out of a side street, turning right onto a main road, and hear something... I thought it was someone honking at me...

That buzzer was annoying to have with a bridgeport. Especially if you shift as high as nessessary on a full sprint, you only drop to 6500rpm so you'd be in buzzer terroritory the whole time.

Even mildport you end up shifting at 7500rpm and the buzzer is not subtle enough. Maybe if it had a disable switch it would be fine. But I ended up doing the same as most people, removing the tiny screw to disconnect the power supply from it.

yeah, I was talking with a newbie rx owner... he's like, "yeah, man, when I go really fast, the car honks at me. what's up with that?" I just laughed and told him not to rev his car that high.
