I have a 4 barrel nikki that I've been working on. I wanted to change the secondary venturi from vacuum to mechanical. I've learned how to set the primary and seconday to open. I've also read there are a few things to do after tinkering with the venturi. But I am more of the hands on learning type of person. If anyone has links to a video or pictures of their carb after they modded it I'd love to see them.

 

Search mechanical secondaries. There lots of threads on this.

Take a look at this.


Can you see the wire used to tie the linkage together? This is an easily
reversible mechanical secondary mod.

You may get a secondary hiccup unless you also mod your accel pump; an
example is also seen in the picture.

This carb was modded back in 2007. I don't do mods this way anymore. For
example I keep the emergency return spring now. What you see is a noob's
(my early) attempt. Maybe you'll do better?

Hey dude. I've got the same carby and the secondaries aren't turning on. This issue arose after a repair I had done. I know where to find vacuum diaphragm and I understand that a vacuum source is used to operate it, but that's about it. Any pointers? Cheers.
