To have something like made by a place like Racing Beat or Atkins would be expensive.

I'm gonna guess about $4,500-5,000

Sounds like a strong setup,

cool i can afford that. its worth it for a engine thats gonna last, i wanna put a 3 plug setup on it also i calculated around 13,000 canadian with taxes all toghter for 400 clean HP

either that or 13000 for a new 3 rotor. or 13000 for a RX8 new motor, i preffer stay original

Don't take that to be the most accurate quote on the board.

And I wasn't really taking the accesorys you listed into consideration

but that's probably about right for the bare block and internals without the pulleys water pump and manifold. (new housings are spendy)

You've got some pretty lofty goals with this project, good luck. It'll be bad *** when it's done.

try this place: http://www.mazdatrix.com/engmain.htm

I had my 12A Street port done by Mazdatrix with all new parts for 4500.00. I'm pushing 167 hp at the flywheel with a 45DCOE Weber and 137 at the rear wheels at 3300 rpms... at the time engine had only 1000 miles on it...

My 13BT block was $4500 from Mazdatrix.
Same mods and parts except for used irons and no lightening.

New rotor housings - 407.31 x 2
New front plate - 290.95
New center plate - 303.15
New rear plate - 410.26
Lightened rotors - 1,850.00
Front stationary gear - 121.00
Rear stationary gear - 138.00
Water jacket mod - 69.00
Bridge porting - 723.00
All new seals and gaskets - 1,005.67
Race oil pump - 145.00
lightened alt pulley - 60.00
lightened main pulley - 46.00
engine balancing - 317.00
flywheel balancing - 63.00
pressure plate balancing - 63.00

grand total = 6109.65

Now this is not counting the electric waper pump, custom manifold, or the eshaft lightening because I am just too lazy to research these. But you would also have to put this engine togeather yourself. If you were to have someone else do it you would have to factor that in as well.

Good luck, sounds like a project and a half. I would also try to do any of the work yourself.

Here comes Mr. negative....

400hp is a lofty goal for that motor and a camden 7" supercharger. Even with a half bridge, the sc probably won't let you spin high enough to take advantage of the power curve. Why do you need a custom manifold for a supercharger that you should only select if you want to skip the hassle of making a custom manifold? The camden is very inefficient, and generally just crappy, only buy it if you need to just bolt it on and go since it has a matching manifold they sell along with it. You could easily spend your entire $13k budget on a manifold alone if it's crazy enough. The smart money is not in lightening the rotating assembly, don't waste your time with hardened stationary gears unless the motor is going to spin high rpm (and it won't with the sc), engine balancing is unnecessary for your situation, new side plates are unnecessary, race oil pump is unnecessary if you aren't constantly at high rpm, pressure plate/flywheel balancing is not needed. Do you have any intake system in mind? FI, carbed? What's your fuel system like? A three plug setup will require a new trigger and a method to keep it in time - are you going aftermarket ignition control, or some sort of mechanical method? You then have to factor in machining cost to modify the housings, and before you can get that done, you have to give the shop some dimensions to work with so they can put your new spark plug hole in the right place - where exactly do you want the plug, and what will it do for you there that it can't do just a few degrees off from that spot? Now, how will you seal off the water jacket area around your new plug while keeping the area around it cool when the engine is running?

Damn, you really are Mr. negative. Although, if I were to go for 400 ponies, I would go turbo over supercharger.

NimrodTT is correct.

That setup (supercharged) won't be anywhere NEAR 400hp. You'll be
very lucky to make 300.

Gotta agree with that......yea,Im biased....But the proof is all around you.
How many mildly ported turbo rotaries are out there making insane amounts of power, and how many supercharged ones are there?
Theres nothing wrong with trying to be different or make something unique work for you,but itll cost $$ and time.

wow mr negative just killed my mojo, ok kill this idea ill just drop a V8 in it, (i was talking about the juice haha), well i email camden (gary brooks) he said ill achieve 230hp with some boltons which is wayyyyy to high i think he meant 130hp, but anyz all i wanted to have is my 12A Carb to be running 400hp if i consult with some more people who says its isnt worth it ill just get a 13B and spend $6,000 total and get 400hp, but what i wanted was a engine to be mostly N/A, and burning less gas, and the way i know to do that is lighten everything, but ill go with some of you guys hopefully u have had trial and error b4, thanks again

I paid at least 4,500.00 for my SP 12A from a private builder. Used RB Holley carb, intake, etc. Paid more for my 13B built by the same guy.

Nooooooooo.

Don't do that. It can be done, It just takes lots of money.
Talk to Directfreak or 680RWHP12A they can lead you in the right direction.

If all you want is 400HP go buy a Z06. It'll be easyer in the long run.
