Those wheels are sure different..... I bet with some polishing/powdercoating they could look very nice!

I'd usually guess a carb 12A car would be worth $500-$750 more to the right person if it's RHD and TAGGABLE over a LHD model.

A factory RHD 12A turbo would be worth quite a bit more than that to some people....I'd sure like one!

I've never seen those wheels... interesting. About the value of the car, you'd be better off selling specific parts off of it instead of the whole thing. You might get 500$ for the complete car if your lucky.

I've never seen any RX-7 from any country sporting those wheels. They're probably from earlier RX's. 500$ for used, old, mazda mystery wheels? I dont think so...

RX-7's in Japan came with sweet rims, 15" pizza-like ones from the 626GT were on the 12A turbo (actually, the RX-T wheels were put on the 626) there were also these really nice wheels on J-spec's. I want a set badly... take a peek

My 78 Savanna's original wheels are exactly the same as the North American 79-80 alloys. Those rotor wheels could be special ordered through Mazda here too.

Hi Rotorracing.

Wow, that interior looks familiar to me! I live in New Zealand and have a 1978 right-hand drive Japanese import with the poo brown interior and the back seat.

I think the value of the car would be lowish. It's an automatic, which is an undesirable feature in a car that people usually buy to drive fast.

Good luck,

Hey wait. What exactly is wrong with it? Run? 1978 models and japanese-spec models are VERY rare. Remember that Mazda built 474,565 RX-7's between 1978 and 1985. Also, keep in mind 450,000 of them were US market models. Not ones for Canada or Mexico, just cars exported to the US. That leaves 24,565 cars for all years for all markets and all countries. So, a '78 model (made only between March 30th 1978 and May 1978) for Japan is really rare. Also, a RHD car in the US is cool. And registerable. Because of it being RHD and a J-spec car, you can tag it as a "collector" which all 1st gens are. Because of that, you have a special plate, and are exempt from emissions if you aren't already. You are restricted to a certain number of miles/year in most cases, but if you have six RX-7's, that isn't a problem. Driving a RHD car is very enjoyable. Espcially when I was driving once with my sister of eight a long while ago and everybody thought that 8-year old was driving said 1958 MGA. (which wasn't mine unfortunatly)
