How long are the sway bar end links?

Dumb question that I'm hoping someone can help me out with. How long are the stock sway bar end links supposed to be for the front and rear? I bought some energy suspension end links online and I'm not positive that they sent me the right ones. It seems like the ones they sent me are too short? I don't even have enough threads sticking out the end to thread the nylock nut onto. Do you have to compress them first to get the nut started?

I put Energy end-links on front and rear this year; I had to squeeze on mine a little bit to get the threads started, too... once you can get a solid bite of a couple turns of the nut on the bolt, they load up just fine.

Like yours, they seemed just a little short to start easily. I just got all the parts lined up, then raised the suspension just slightly to get that 1/4" or so of starting thread clear of the bottom plate.

Okay, that's kinda what I thought. If I can get half a turn or so on the nut then I can crank it on down and tighten everything up I'm sure.

It's not super-critical that the links are the same length as stock, but you do want to have the loads from the suspension pushing the bar in as close to totally perpendicular as possible. It saves on wasted energy going into the bushings and brackets.

When I installed mine, I set the total tightening distance as per the FSM spec, and they look as close to parallel when on the ground as my eyeballs are calibrated for. So the overall combination must be pretty close to stock length.
